Fly Ash Forum - January 29thCrofton First invites you to attend our follow-up Fly Ash Public Forum to update citizens in the Gambrills and surrounding communities on the fly ash groundwater contamination. The forum will take place at 7:00 pm, on Tuesday January 29, 2008 at the Village Commons Community Room (behind Little Treasury in the Waugh Chapel shopping center). Directions to the facility can be found here.
The forum will start with speakers from the companies and branches of government involved in the recent fly ash consent decree, and will be followed by a question and answer session. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at croftonfirst@gmail.com

Class Action Lawsuit Filed on behalf of Gambrills residents(Gambrills, MD Nov. 29) Murphy & Falcon, P.A. of Baltimore has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of Gambrills, Maryland residents whose wells have been contaminated by nearby fly ash dump sites operated by Constellation Power Source Generation, Inc. Even though Wal-Mart is not coming to Rt. 3, Crofton First is still committed to Smart Growth along the Rt. 3 Corridor.
Wal-Mart will NOT be coming to CroftonIt's official: Wal-Mart will not be building a store on Rt. 3 in Crofton. This week Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold announced that "the planned Wal-Mart store will not be coming to Crofton."
It goes without saying that this could not have been achieved without a dedicated community making their voices heard. Thanks to everyone who supported this effort. Join the Network Now
Crofton First is creating a Telephone Network (chain) throughout the Crofton Area to Alert Members into Action to contact Elected Officials and County Administrators when an Important Issue needs Immediate Action. Numbers Count: Join the Network Now. Follow the instructions on the one page form.
General Membership Meeting Schedule
Membership Meetings will be held bi-monthly on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Community United Methodist Church (CUMC) at the corner of Riedel Rd and Rt. 424.
Follow signs to their Fellowship Hall from the parking lot (you'll enter through the double doors on your right as you walk towards their office building (not the church itself.)
